Author was Preston Brown, started in 1998.  Screenshot from then looks quite similar to current version.  KOrganiser 1.0 happened in 1999 with KDE 1.  Based on new vCalendar format.  KOrganiser 2 had a new maintainer (Cornelius), ported to KDE 2, heirachical todos and HTML support, colour coding.

Korganiser 2.2 big change, based on iCalendar much improved successor to vCalendar.  libkcal introduced with all the calendar parsing.  

KOrganiser 3.0 was the first version with groupware functions, you can send invitations to people and get replies and schedule meetings etc.  Plugin interface.  [http://www.ai.mit.edu/~rahimi/coolmf/response.html|Marcus Bains Line] was included, this is famous but nobody knows what it is, will be shown in demonstration.

KOrganiser 3.1 has a menu item "Get Hot New Stuff".  KOrganiser Embedded came out, a port to Qtopia environment (won second prise in Trolltech competition).  Only 1 week of work thanks to KDE framework.

KOrganiser 3.2 was released this year, data model changed to allow multiple calendars.  

KOrganiser 3.3 released last week got support for a bunch of groupware servers.

The Marcus Bains Line is a marker to show the current date and time on KOrganiser.  This was the coolest patch Cornelius ever got.  The author got drunk in a pub one day, met a Markus Bains who explained a theory on displaying time which turned into this nice feature.

Demonstrated loading akademy iCal file from the akademy website, loads KOrganiser as a kpart in Konqueror.  Can also be loaded into your own calendar.

Future is a new maintainer, Reinhold Kainhofer, more stability and usability.
